An Ecological Conference in Banja Luka

The regional Environmental Center for Central and East Europe organized a conference in Banja Luka. For the first time since the war ecological groups from Bosnia, Joegoslavia and Slovenia met together.
The aim was to establish a permanent contact between the different, often isolated and fragmentized groups. After the introduction of all the groups which took all day, a second day followed with several subjects to be discussed. Subjects like the implementation of the Aarhus confention, the cooperation between different groups and projects and marketing strategy.
The atmosphere was exellent and the results, as far as I can judge, promising.
I hope that this group will get more influence to protect the beautifull country against the pushing effects of freemarket mechanisms.
