Tanktransport B.V., gevestigd
in Putten. Dit weekend is het kantoor is gesloten. Maandag zal directeur

To: Van de Brug Int. Tanktransport B.V.

Western Sahara Resource Watch (WSRW) observes that one of your trucks
have been used in the transports of fish oil from Western Sahara.

The transport after unloading the chemical tanker 'Key Bay' yesterday,
in the port of Fécamp, France. A photo of the truck is posted on this
article we posted this morning: http://wsrw.org/a105x3579

The Key Bay imports is mentioned in French newspaper Libération and the
EU Observer this week.

WSRW wishes, with this mail, to express our concerns regarding this
transport.
The trade of goods from Western Sahara is associated with serious
concerns of international law and human rights. Even though your company
is not operating in Western Sahara itself, but carries out this
transports solely within the EU, it is important to bear in mind the
intention behind the Dutch government's recommendation to private
businesses, to not operate in Western Sahara. That recommendation is
based on the concerns of not contributing to the violation of
international law. The Dutch government is also clear that goods from
Western Sahara are not part of the EU-Morocco free trade agreement.

We appreciate that a transportation company like yours cannot know all
aspects of all cargo transports it undertakes for its clients.

Yet, we would like to underline the controversies behind transports of
this particular goods, in the hope that your company will not take on
such assignment again in the future.

The shipments always come in to the town of Fécamp, and they are always
carried on board Key Bay or its sister vessels. From what we have been
able to establish, the client is the company Olvea.

On that basis, we have two questions to v.d.Brug
1) Based on the concerns of human rights and international law, will
v.d.Brug abstain from taking part in further transports of fish oil
originating from Western Sahara?
2) To which destination was the fish oil on the mentioned truck transported?

A CC of this mail is sent to Frank Willems in the Dutch Western Sahara
Association.

Looking forward to hear from you,

Sincerely

Erik Hagen
