Old City Hall and National Library: This famous old building was build in the 19th century during time of the Austro-Hungarian empire times in special "Pseudo Mawrey" style - a mixture of oriental and European designs. It was originally the city hall and was later turned into a national library containing thousands of very old books written in various languages. The building was virtually destroyed during the siege and bombings of the town, back in 1992, and a large number of one-of-a-kind ancient manuscripts were burned, but a small amount of books were salvaged.
