  20  DJUKANOVIC LOSES

      The prime minister of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, has resigned as
      vice president of the ruling Montenegrin Democratic Socialist
      Party. The resignation came at the end of a 16 hour party meeting
      on Monday.

  25  Recent weeks have seen increasing criticism in Serbia of Mr
      Djukanovic's conduct. The Prime Minister has been gaining the
      reputation of a loose cannon with recent statements criticising
      Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic and calling for increased
      Montenegrin independence from the Yugoslav Federation.


  30  DELAY ON TRADE CONCESSIONS

      There will be no European Union trade concessions to Yugoslavia in
      the immediate future, Dutch Foreign Minister Hans van der Mirlo
      told media on Tuesday. Mr van der Mirlo said that the Council of
      Ministers of the European Union has ordered the European
  35  Commission to prepare a proposal for trade concession to
      Yugoslavia, but stressed that the document will remain on the
      shelf until the appropriate political conditions were achieved. He
      added that the recent ratification of the agreement on parallel
      relations between Yugoslavia and Republika Srpska was one of the
  40  main obstacles to approval of trade concessions.


      KARIC WOOING COVIC

      Bogoljub Karic, Chairman of the BK Group and owner of BK
      television on Sunday met former Belgrade mayor Nebojsa Covic,
      according to Belgrade's daily Nasa Borba. The paper says that Mr
  45  Karic is seeking Mr Covic's support in his bid for the Serbian
      presidency. Mr Karic is also allegedly seeking the support of
      former Yugoslav Prime Minister Milan Panic, but Mr Panic is said
      to be expecting that his own candidacy will be supported by
      Zajedno.


  50  IZETBEGOVIC IN US

      President of the the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, Alija
      Izetbegovic said in Washington on Monday that there would be no
      peace in Bosnia until war criminals have been extradited to The
      Hague.


  55  LOCAL RADIO: BROADCAST OR PAY

      The president of the Association of Radio Stations of Serbia,
      Dusan Petrovic, on Monday said that local radio stations who did
      not want to broadcast news bulletins of state radio may were free
      to leave the Association. However in that case they are obliged to
  60  repay money invested in them by the state. This is a total of
      about 200 million DEM.
