International Student Conference for Sustainable Development and Agenda 21

We have the pleasure to announce you the First International Conference of Student Representatives for Sustainable Development to be held in the beautiful port city in the south of Turkey, Adana, from 29 February-5 March 2000.

This event will be organized by Youth Association for Habitat and Agenda 21 (The Secretariat of Youth for Habitat International Network) and Higher Committee of Student Councils; and will be hosted by Rectorship of Cukurova University and Cukurova Student Council.

This event aims at gathering of representatives of university youth councils from all over the world to discuss the challenges ahead and forms of cooperation among universities within an institutionalized framework.

You are invited to contribute to and participate in this event. Your ideas to develop the content are also welcome. During the conference you are expected to transfer your own experiences on diverse issues e.g. society-university relations, autonomy universities, governance in universities, contribution of the student potential in social life, coordination between universities, relations with national bodies.

Please note that the organization committee is unable to cover the travel costs of the participants, yet accommodation and meals will be provided. Dead-line for application is 15 January 2000.
